Unique 9-Hour Horse Riding Tour on Black Sand Beach by Eldhestar

I didn't stay overnight and only participated in the One Day Tour. The day before, I received an email inquiring about my riding experience, asking me to choose from "Intermediate", "Strong Intermediate", or "Advanced Intermediate". Since "Strong Intermediate" required six hours of riding experience per day, I selected "Intermediate". We loaded my partner horse onto a trailer and drove about 25 kilometers to the Black Sand Beach. After leaving the Black Sand Beach, the route to lunch took us across vast riverbeds and several river crossings. Unfortunately, the rain was quite heavy, making it impossible to take any video or still photos. It was a breathtaking viewpoint accessible only by Icelandic horse, and even now, thinking back, I can't help but feel deeply disappointed.

One Way Horse Trek to Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex by Tsogto Mongol

The beginner's course to Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex took me through herds of grazing cows, and enjoyable even for experienced riders. It follows the lead horse reliably and handles well. I tried various positions within the formation along the way, and it responded obediently. Several people in the group were riding horses for the first time, yet they still managed to gallop. Naturally, the formation became a complete mess and descended into chaos, but it was remarkable that everyone arrived at the destination without falling off their horses.

Icelandic Horse Riding Tour by Laxnes Horse Farm

The difficulty level was Easy, a beginner course of about 2 hours and 9km involving crossing a few small rivers. However, the total trot distance was just over 16 minutes and 2.3km, making it thoroughly enjoyable even for experienced riders. The ridden horse had a tight mouth, making it difficult to control. Only towards the end, when space opened up between horses, could I achieve a good rhythm in trot. When picked up by car, I thought the driver seemed elderly, but later learned he was the owner of the horse farm, which made me feel quite embarrassed. It's a family-run operation, but apparently a large farm with over 100 horses. Incidentally, I was surprised to see the guide at the rear riding bareback.

Icelandic Horseback Riding Tour by Ishestar Horse Riding Centre

When we arrived at the horse riding facility, we watched an instructional video " Ishestar - How to ride an icelandic horse? ". Afterwards, each person was assigned a horse. The icelandic horse here are particularly friendly and very calm. We started in a group of about 20 people, and halfway through we split into a slow group and a faster group, with the faster group mixing in a lot of trotting. This beginner course on our first day in Iceland was just the right warm-up. I think experienced riders will enjoy it too.
